Position Summary

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of resident rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and facility grounds.

This role plays an important part in infection prevention, resident satisfaction, and overall facility operations.
Responsibilities


* Clean and sanitize resident rooms, hallways, restrooms, dining areas, and common spaces


* Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish surfaces throughout the facility


* Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to facility procedures


* Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed


* Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times


* Clean windows, doors, furniture, and fixtures


* Assist with floor care, including buffing and stripping when necessary


* Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply needs to management


* Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure proper storage of supplies


* Support a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for residents and guests

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent preferred


* Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or environmental services experience preferred


* Experience in healthcare or skilled nursing settings is a plus


* Ability to work independently and as part of a team


* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness


* Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies as needed


* Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
