Transportation Engineering Group Leader

Ardurra is seeking a Transportation Engineering Group Leader to join our team in Houston, TX!

We are looking for someone excited to lead, grow, and guide a successful team that performs a variety of engineering tasks involving design work, research, and preparation of drawings and designs for transportation projects throughout Texas.

Primary Function:

The Group Leader will have operational responsibility for a portion of the business to plan, direct, and oversee TXDOT and municipal projects.

Responsibilities include overall operations profit & loss, business development, proposal development, project management, and oversight on TXDOT and municipal projects.

In addition to leading a group, managing project delivery teams and providing exceptional client service are must haves for this role.

Primary Duties:


* You will provide technical expertise to ensure that projects are delivered on budget, on schedule, and the technical and quality standards meet all expectations.


* Expected to provide technical solutions and advice while mentoring and developing other engineers.



* Ability to monitor and evaluate the operations of the Group


* Thorough understanding and ability to analyze financial reports


* Actively involved in monitoring the budget, schedule, and quality of projects within the Group


* Supervising staff and recruiting new staff when needed


* Successful experience in proposal writing to obtain work


* Have strong and established relationships with local municipalities/agencies within the Houston, TX area and beyond


* It is also favorable to have established relationships throughout the state.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:


* A Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university or college  


* Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas is required


* 15+ years of progressive engineering management experience in design related to highways and transportation projects


* Proven track record managing activities related to project planning, scope, schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, communications, resources, procurement, profit/loss, corrective actions, and risk elements


* Knowledge of local municipal and department standards and requirements as well as the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) administrative and technical regulations


* Ability to prepare/review technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and engineering studies


* Ability to perform effective Quality control (QC) for plans, estimates, technical reports, and studies
