About the role:

As the ABS Manager, you will provide critical support for ABS strategy deployment at Alcoa Iceland, acquire and disseminate knowledge of lean management methods and ABS to users.

Working with the operation as ABS Manager, collaborating with location ABS personnel, will be critical to your success and establishing performance metrics and measurements of the effectiveness of work processes.

You will also make requirements and standards visible to employees & be responsible for the internal and external audits.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:


* Manage teams and continuously work towards improving productivity through waste elimination.


* Be a champion of the Fjarðaál productivity culture.


* Lead and motivate teams to achieve goals and follow up on deviations in metrics.


* Facilitate cooperation among all different operational areas toward the same common goals.


* Lead the development of strategic plans.


* Participate in the work of the executive board, contribute knowledge and work on the implementation of plans.


* Prepare budgets for the relevant team.


* Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and challenge the organization to improve.


* Communication internally with CEO, other managers and leaders.

* Your ABS methodology knowledge will be used to maintain and improve processes.


* Your work will be carried out according to Fjarðaál's management system and productivity culture.


* You will guard rules and standards.


* By providing information and complying with the requirements, you will support your team that are necessary for their processes within deadlines and following up on the achievement of training goals.


* You will ensure sufficient resources to achieve process goals.


* Thanks to your leadership skills you will maintain and ensure relationships between teams.

Job requirements:


* Education and/or qualifications required


* Minimum education: –BA or BS degree Experience required.


* Master’s degree is a plus.


* At least 7-10 years of work experience after university degree.


* Independent working style.


* Excellent English skills....
