Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the availability, performance, security, and recoverability of enterprise database services supporting critical business applications.

Assists with administration of Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and cloud-based database platforms across on-premises, Azure, and hybrid environments.

Performs database installation, configuration, monitoring, patching, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting activities under established standards and procedures.

Works with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and vendor teams to maintain reliable database services.

Demonstrates technical aptitude, analytical thinking, and commitment to continuous learning while using approved AI-enabled tools responsibly to support research, troubleshooting, documentation, and process improvement activities.

Participates in change management, project assignments, disaster recovery activities, and on-call rotation.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Demonstrated collaboration, customer focus, accountability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, technical aptitude, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.

Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, and learning, with appropriate validation and protection of company information.

Commitment to continuous learning, knowledge sharing, documentation, and cross-training.

Preferred:

Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, or other enterprise database platforms is preferred but not required when a candidate demonstrates relevant technical aptitude and transferable skills.

Exposure to PowerShell, Unix shell scripting, Python, automation, DevOps practices, monitoring, or CoPilot is desirable.
