Reconstruction Estimator
Position Overview The Estimator at Kustom plays a critical role in developing accurate, complete, and defensible estimates for restoration projects.
This position is responsible for reviewing loss information, evaluating property damage, preparing estimates primarily in Xactimate, supporting estimate approvals, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure scopes are clear, profitable, and aligned with Kustom standards.
The Estimator partners closely with operations, production, project leadership, adjusters, carriers, and customers to support timely project progression from initial assessment through approval and handoff.
This role requires strong technical estimating ability, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance urgency with accuracy in a fast-paced restoration environment.

Key Responsibilities Estimate Development & Scope Accuracy Prepare detailed reconstruction and restoration estimates using Xactimate and other approved estimating platforms.Review Matterport scans, photos, field documentation, sketches, inspection notes, program requirements, and other available loss information to develop accurate scopes of work.Identify missing information, scope gaps, pricing concerns, or documentation needs and communicate promptly with the appropriate field or operations team.Ensure estimates include accurate quantities, line items, supporting documentation, photos, notes, and applicable assumptions.Align estimates with Kustoms profitability expectations, operational standards, carrier/program requirements, and industry best practices.Revise estimates as needed based on updated documentation, field feedback, adjuster responses, supplements, or project changes.
Carrier, Adjuster & Approval Support Communicate with insurance adjusters, carriers, consultants, and other stakeholders to support estimate review, negotiation, and approval.Prepare and support supplements, revisions, clarifications, and documentation packages needed to justify scope and pricing.Provide clear visual and written documentation of damages, repair methodology, and estimate rationale.Monitor estimate status and follow up with appropriate urgency to support timely approvals and project movement.Maintain professionalism and accuracy in all estimate-related communications.
Customer & Prospect Engagement Support customer and prospect communication related to project scope, estimate process, and next steps, as appropriate.Explain Kustoms reconstruction and restoration services in a clear, professional, and customer-focused manner.Assist in securing Authorizations to Proceed when the role is responsible for customer or prospect engagement.Partner with Residential Services Specialists, Project Di...
