The Opportunity

Parking Lot Painting Company (PLP Co.) is seeking a dedicated Union Pavement Marking & Heavy Highway Equipment Operator to join our field operations team dispatched out of Bethel Park, PA.

In this high-impact union field role, you will operate specialized highway marking equipment—including thermoplastic trucks, high-pressure water blasters, epoxy application rigs, and pavement grinding/grooving machinery.

Dispatched on municipal, PennDOT, and federal highway infrastructure projects across Greater Pittsburgh, you will manage roadway layout, quantity tracking, and mobile traffic control closures.

Key Responsibilities


* Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialized roadway marking machinery—including thermoplastic applicator trucks, epoxy trucks, water blasters, and grooving/grinding rigs.


* Pavement Marking Layout & Installation: Measure, lay out, and apply precision pavement markings across highways, airports, and commercial facilities according to engineered plans, PennDOT specs, and digital tools (e.g., Google Earth).


* Traffic Control & Site Safety: Perform Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MOT) duties—including certified flagging, setting safety perimeters, and executing mobile lane closures.


* Asset Maintenance & Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, perform routine equipment maintenance, and ensure spray systems and heating kettles remain field-ready.


* Material Handling & Logistics: Load, transfer, and audit specialized materials (epoxy resin, glass beads, thermoplastic compound) using company transport vehicles.
