Maintenance Technician Apprentice

Guardian Glass is seeking a Maintenance Technician Apprentice in Geneva, NY!

This position provides an opportunity for an individual interested in developing a career in industrial maintenance to gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced maintenance professionals.

The Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship will participate in structured on-the-job training and assist with the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment.

Employees in this role will work for up to 12 months on a Day Shift and then will be expected to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule once training is complete.

Starting hourly wage is $25 per hour.

$1000 Sign-On Bonus paid out at 6 months of employment.

What You Will Do


* Participate in an apprenticeship and on-the-job training to develop mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills


* Work alongside experienced maintenance technicians to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and equipment


* Assist with preventative and predictive maintenance activities


* Learn to troubleshoot mechanical systems, including bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, pumps, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems


* Use a computer or tablet to document maintenance activities, enter work order, identify parts, and maintain accurate maintenance records


* Identify equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs to technicians, supervisors, and operations employees


* Maintain a clean and organized work area


* Follow all company safety, environmental, quality, and operating procedures

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Experience using a computer or tablet for documentation, communication, and/or record-keeping

What Will Put You Ahead


* A degree or certification in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance


* Experience working within an industrial manufacturing environment


* Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics


* Experience prioritizing down-time severity


* Experience troubleshooting root causes and applying long-term solutions


* Experience reading and interpreting machine electrical and mechanical drawings
