Maintenance Helper

The starting wage for this role is $27.00/hour with monthly incentive bonus opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Transfer tools, parts, equipment and supplies to and from work stations and other areas.


* Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas and other objects using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.


* Examine and test machinery, equipment, components and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.


* Adjust, maintain and repair tools, equipment and machines.


* Install or replace machinery, equipment, new and/or replacement parts, instruments using hand or power tools.


* Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.


* Hold or supply tools, parts, equipment, and supplies for other workers.


* Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures and other objects for assembly or installation, using hand tools, power tools and moving equipment.


* Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete.


* Apply protective materials to equipment, components, and parts to prevent defects and corrosion.


* Assemble and maintain physical structures using hand or power tools.


* Order new parts to maintain inventory.


* Prepare work stations for use by mechanics and repairers.


* Complete regular equipment inspection rounds to monitor the proper operation of support equipment.


* Read and write Safe Job Procedures, Unfamiliar Tasks, and Hazard Identification documents.

REQUIREMENTS:


* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


* Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.


* Ability to work in an environment subject to fluctuation in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise.


* Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and company policies.


* Strong decision making skills to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE and job planning to perform a task safely.


* Ability to use basic hand and power tools.


* Strong communication skills; Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with internal and external customers.


* Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other programs.
