District Manager

JOB PURPOSE: This position oversees convenience store locations in Cheboygan and surrounding northern areas, including the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
This position is responsible for ensuring effective management and profitability of stores in the assigned district.

The District Manager will be responsible for directing and overseeing all area store personnel to achieve District and BCOC performance objectives.

This role is key for the overall profitability and productivity of multiple retail stores and oversees many aspects of their day-to-day operations as well as creating a work environment that supports and promotes employee engagement through coaching and demonstrating Company values.

The District Manager directly supervises individual Store Managers and requires a continuous visible presence within their assigned stores.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
1.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is required.

Candidates with progress toward a relevant bachelor's degree combined with progressively responsible management experience may be given consideration.
2.

Five years of progressively responsible management experience in a retail environment is necessary.
3.

Strong leadership skills and well developed written and verbal communication skills are required.
4.

Excellent analytical skills are necessary.
5.

Familiarity with compliance standards in the industry is required.

(Sale of alcohol, tobacco, fuel, environmental compliance).
6.

Computer literacy and store operational and financial data systems are necessary.
7.

Good presentation skills.
8.

The ability to interpret a wide variety of operating, financial and Human Resources reports to identify store issues and opportunities for improvement is required.
9.

Well-developed skills in managing a large workforce are necessary.
10.

The ability to travel between store locations is essential.

Must maintain a current, valid, unrestricted driver's license with an insurable driving record.
11.

Certification as a Class C Operator of Underground Storage Tanks needs to be obtained.
