Safety and Training Manager

Safety and Training Manager Position Summary The Safety and Training Manager is responsible for leading the organizations Safety, Training, Environmental, and Occupational Health programs, with primary emphasis on workplace safety and employee training.

This role leads the development and execution of programs designed to prevent workplace injuries, strengthen employee capability, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a proactive culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.

The Safety and Training Manager serves as the primary leader for workplace safety incidents, injury management, near misses, risk assessment, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

The role also owns the overall employee training program, ensuring employees receive effective onboarding, safety, compliance, job-specific, and ongoing skills training.

Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership Lead the organizations workplace safety program and promote a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture.Serve as the primary case manager for workplace safety incidents, injuries, and near misses, coordinating response and investigation from initial report through corrective action and case closure.Lead root-cause investigations and partner with Operations leadership to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, programs, and protocols designed to reduce workplace hazards.Conduct and oversee safety audits, inspections, observations, job hazard assessments, and workplace risk assessments.Identify safety and compliance gaps and partner with operational leaders to implement timely corrective actions.Partner with supervisors and managers to establish safety expectations, reinforce accountability, and achieve safety performance goals.Track and analyze incidents, near misses, leading indicators, corrective actions, and other safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Promote employee engagement in safety through communication, coaching, recognition, and proactive hazard identification.

Training & Employee Development Own and continuously improve the organizations operational training program, including new-hire onboarding, safety training, job-specific training, cross-training, refresher training, and ongoing skills development.Manage and provide direction to the Training Coordinator, including priorities, performance expectations, coaching, and professional development.Partner with Operations leaders and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop appropriate training solutions.Develop and maintain structured training plans, curriculum, materials, job aids, qualification standards, and training documentation.Ensure employees receive required safety, compliance, and job-specific training within established timelines.Establish processes to measure training completion, competency, knowledge retention, and overall training effectiveness.Support the development and qu...
