Infusion Services Supervisor
Clinical Care & Patient Experience Provides direct patient care and administers infusion therapies in accordance with provider orders, established protocols, policies, and standards of practice.Assesses patients before, during, and after treatment and appropriately responds to changes in condition, infusion reactions, and other clinical concerns.Serves as a clinical resource for nursing staff regarding complex patients, medications, infusion reactions, vascular access, and clinical decision-making.Provides clinical coverage during staffing shortages, unexpected absences, or periods of increased patient volume when necessary to maintain safe patient care and department operations.Maintains clinical competency and remains current in infusion therapies, medications, emergency procedures, and standards of practice.Provides patient education regarding infusion therapies, medications, potential adverse effects, and treatment expectations.Ensures accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of care and a positive patient experience.
Staff Supervision & Development Provides direct supervision to assigned infusion staff and establishes expectations for clinical practice, professional conduct, teamwork, and patient care.Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, mentoring, and support to direct reports.Completes performance evaluations and establishes performance expectations and development goals.Addresses performance, attendance, conduct, and other employee concerns through appropriate coaching and progressive discipline in accordance with organizational policies.Escalates higher-level disciplinary or employee relations matters to the Infusion Services Manager and Human Resources as appropriate.Participates in recruitment, interviewing, selection, onboarding, orientation, and training of infusion staff and provides recommendations regarding candidate selection.Coordinates and/or completes required competencies, skills validations, and annual evaluations.Identifies staff education and development needs and supports ongoing professional growth.Promotes a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment and addresses staff concerns or conflicts in a timely manner.Serves as a clinical role model and resource for new and experienced infusion nurses.Serve as acting decision-maker and point of contact in the absence of the Infusion Service Manager.
Infusion Operations, Staffing, Quality & Safety Oversee the day-to-day nursing operations of the infusion service to promote safe, efficient, and consistent patient care.Manages nursing schedules and staffing assignments to maintain appropriate coverage and nurse-to-patient ratios based on patient volume, acuity, treatment needs, and staff competency.Reviews and coordinates staff requests for PTO, FMLA, LOA, and other leaves of absence in collaboration with the Infusion Services Manager and appropriate org...
