Join our team today! Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking a full-time Operations Coordinator 2 to join our Men's Operations team.
Are you the right person? Position Schedule: Biweekly rotation, including weekends The Operations Coordinator serves as a key member of Nashville Rescue Missions Operations staff and is responsible for the coordination and supervision of special projects performed by volunteers and work therapy participants.
As needed, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for organizing, managing, and coordinating all the food service functions within the kitchen.
This includes monitoring the service and quality of food, as well as the health compliance regulations and consumer satisfaction.
The Coordinator must have an understanding of Nashville Rescue Missions purpose and message and must be an innovative leader with strong management skills and the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Upholds the Mission Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct at all times.
Essential Duties: Coordinates the scheduling of special projects performed by Nashville Rescue Mission staff, volunteers, and work therapy participants.
Coordinates details of the special projects with the Vice President and Director of Operations (materials needed, number of volunteers needed, length of time for completing project, etc.).
Oversees assigned special projects from start to finish and works hands-on with all groups to complete special projects.
Must be on standby and available to cover unexpected work needs on weekends.
Knows Mission's statistical information for use when giving tours to volunteer groups.
Reports completion of all special projects to supervisor.Able to complete and maintain the Work Therapy schedule in the absence of the Director of Operations.
Must train and be able to perform as directed in 5 of the 6 areas: Kitchen Follows the written meal schedule as set by the Food Service Manager.
Communicates with Food Service Manager regarding surplus foods and issues related to meal planning.
Receives, stores, and manages supplies that are ordered and donated.
Ensures food storage areas (pantry, refrigerators, and freezers) are sanitary and kept well organized in compliance with current health department guidelines and best practices.
Instructs staff, program participants, and volunteers in health department standards, food preparation methods, and cooking.
Oversees preparation and daily use of perishable foods.
Considers the special needs of children and expectant mothers in the daily preparation of foods.
Organizes each days food needs to make certain items needed are brought from storage areas when required.Keeps Food Service Manager informed of kitchen problems and needs.
Oversees sanitation of dining room before and after meals.
