East Bay Post Acute is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dependable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis.

Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide hands-on therapy services to help residents improve their strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and overall functional independence.

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant assists the supervising Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans and providing quality, resident-centered therapy services.

The PTA works collaboratively with residents, families, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team to promote successful rehabilitation outcomes and improve quality of life.

Essential Responsibilities


* Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.


* Assist residents with therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, coordination, and endurance.


* Assist residents with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and functional mobility.


* Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.


* Accurately document treatment provided and resident progress in accordance with facility, state, federal, and payer requirements.


* Educate residents and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, safety strategies, and fall prevention.


* Assist with recommendations and training related to appropriate mobility and adaptive equipment.


* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.


* Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies and procedures.


* Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care conferences, and rehabilitation team activities as needed.


* Collaborate with nursing and other healthcare professionals to support resident care goals.


* Maintain confidentiality of resident and company information.


* Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.


* Perform additional duties as assigned by rehabilitation leadership.

Qualifications


* Current California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing.


* Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.


* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


* Compassionate, professional, and resident-centered approach to care.


* Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.


* Skilled nursing or post-acute rehabilitation experience preferred.
