Communications Coordinator

Three Rivers Community Action is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Communications Coordinator to help tell our story and strengthen connections across Southeast Minnesota.

Through programs including Head Start, Energy Assistance, Housing, Transportation, Weatherization, and more, Three Rivers serves thousands of individuals and families each year.

This role plays a key part in promoting our impact, supporting community engagement, and ensuring our messages are clear, professional, and consistent across all communication channels.

The Communications Coordinator is an active member of the agencys Communications Committee.

This is an ideal role for a creative, detail-oriented communicator who enjoys building relationships, telling meaningful stories, and finding innovative ways to engage the communities we serve.

About the Role The Communications Coordinator serves as Three Rivers Community Action's central resource for agency-wide communications, branding, marketing, storytelling, public relations, and community outreach.

This position helps ensure the agency presents a consistent, professional, and mission-centered message through its website, social media, newsletters, print materials, annual reports, outreach events, media relations, and public awareness campaigns.

Working closely with program leaders and agency leadership, youll develop communication materials, promote program visibility, coordinate outreach efforts, and help share the stories and successes of the people and communities we serve.

This full-time position (40 hours per week) is based in Zumbrota and requires flexibility to work outside traditional business hours as needed.

What You'll Do Develop and manage agency communications across digital, print, and social media platformsCreate compelling stories, content, and marketing materials that highlight programs, services, and community impactCoordinate community outreach, special events, media relations, and public awareness campaignsMaintain brand consistency and support program staff with communication and promotional needsMonitor communication trends and opportunities to strengthen community engagement and agency visibility What We're Looking For Associate's or Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, graphic design, journalism, or a related field; or equivalent experienceExperience creating engaging content across social media, websites, newsletters, and digital platformsStrong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiencesProficiency with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, or similar platformsAbility to manage multiple projects, balance competing priorities, and meet deadlinesA creative, collaborative professional who is passionate about community impact and mission-driven work Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $29.00-$33.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experienceGenerous paid time off...
