Asset Availability Leader- Machines

Your Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as Asset Availability Leader (AAL) in the Paper Machines Department.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner with the operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to improve asset performance, eliminate recurring failures, and increase machine availability across the three paper machines.

This role will report directly to the Area Leader - Machines.

Our Team

The Brunswick Cellulose facility is the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country with a modern woodyard, fiberline, three paper machines, waste treatment plant, and utilities operations.

The Brunswick Cellulose Mill, located in the southeast corner of Georgia is within minutes of downtown Brunswick and about an hour from Jacksonville, FL to the south and Savannah, GA to the north.

What You Will Do:

Partner with operations to identify and close gaps in machine availability by:


* Leading and facilitating the Unplanned Event and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) program to eliminate recurring failures and improve asset performance.


* Owning asset loss accounting to identify performance gaps, prioritize opportunities, and improve machine availability.


* Serving as a conduit for escalation to the reliability team, corporate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and asset care resources for technical support in improving mean time between failures of repeat bad actors.


* Developing and supporting implementation of asset strategies across all three paper machine assets.


* Validating and sustaining equipment reliability processes, including operator basic care, preventive maintenance routes, and predictive maintenance routes.


* Partnering with new engineers, co-ops, and interns to help develop future mill leaders.


* Driving visibility to area opportunities and top losses while building department capability around asset performance and reliability improvement.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience in a process engineering, process optimization, maintenance, reliability, or supervisory/leadership role within a heavy industrial environment (pulp and paper, chemical, petrochemical, or similar manufacturing environment).

• Experience driving change, implementing process improvements, and achieving measurable business results.

• Experience leading or facilitating Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations within a manufacturing environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science.

• Prior supervisory or leadership experience managing and developing direct reports.

• Operations, maintenance, or reliability experience within a pulp and paper manufacturing facility.

• Knowledge of process optimization methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement frameworks.
