Forklift Operator

What You'll Do

You will oversee all warehouse functions including operations, transportation, personnel, and customer service, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

You will manage budgets, direct departmental activities, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local safety regulations.

You will also represent the company to warehouse customers and support continuous improvement and disaster prevention plans.

Essential Functions


* Develop and manage the annual facility budget and ensure adherence across all warehouse departments.


* Direct, assign, and monitor work and performance objectives for warehouse staff.


* Oversee all warehouse activities, costs, operations, and forecasts, and track progress toward goals.


* Ensure a safe work environment by identifying safety concerns and implementing cost-saving opportunities.


* Ensure compliance with company policies and all federal, state, and local safety regulations.


* Represent the company to warehouse customers, maintain positive relationships, and secure additional business.


* Develop and maintain plans for disaster prevention and recovery, and support continuous improvement processes.

What Experience and Education You Need


* College degree in business, logistics, or management plus a minimum of 5 years of experience required in warehousing or logistics management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


* Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.


* Skilled in planning, staffing, budgeting, and organizing.


* Ability to analyze and resolve operational issues related to warehouse management, logistics, and personnel.

* Familiarity with WMS and RF systems.


* Experience with Unions and CBA agreements.

Physical Requirements


* Able to work in spaces with 55 inches (1.4 meters) of headroom.


* Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures varying from 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) to minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius), as well as outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).


* Able to climb ladders or step ladders.


* Able to tolerate heights up to 30 ft.

(9 meters) and be able to access elevated products from inside safety cage.


* Able to wear personal protective equipment required for working at heights and in cold temperatures.


* Able to stand and/or walk continuously or frequently over an 8-10-12 hour shift.

Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.


* Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.
