Mortgage Specialist in Whitehouse
Employee is responsible to understand and comply with regulatory requirements for financial transactions, most specifically the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) as it relates to specific job functions.
The employee must exhibit superior customer service as an Austin Bank team member by demonstrating the highest quality relationship building techniques to ensure the customer receives the best possible solution to his/he financial needs to promote a loyal relationship between the customer and Austin bank.
The employee must participate in developing a teamwork atmosphere with co-workers throughout the bank by attending meetings, participating in discussions, treating co-workers with respect and courtesy, and contributing to departmental goals.
The employee must use the appropriate bank communication channels by reading publications, announcements, company emails, etc.
regarding bank related business matters.
The employee must attend on-going training as provided by the bank in an effort to continue improving their personal skills and staying up to date on changing processes and regulations.
The employee is required to uphold and safeguard the organizations values relating to ethics, integrity, and confidentiality both internally and externally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Performs mortgage lending origination duties to include:
* Providing superior service to customers and branch personnel.
* Phone communications must be courteous and efficient.
* Working with branch personnel to analyze and produce complete mortgage loan packages.
* Working with branch personnel to obtain and analyze an applicant's financial data.
* Follow all the required steps in preparing the necessary loan documents including:
+ Ordering and verifying credit reports
+ Verification of employment
+ Verification of lender's lending limits
+ Verification that the loan type is correct and conforms to the correct terms and rates per bank policy
+ Verification that all HMDA data has been collected
+ Verification that fees are correct with the proper disclosures provided to customer within the proper time frames
+ Verification that the loan conforms to bank policy and applicable laws and regulations
+ Verification that services, fees and documents correlate to the terms and condition of the sales contract.
+ Being familiar with the bank's documentation provider (PPDocs) and that the required and correct information has been provided to them for document preparation.
+ Reviewing and verifying final documents are correct prior to sending to the lender for closing.
