This position reports to the Head Wrestling Coach.

The successful candidate will operate with a committed understanding that, in the pursuit of athletic excellence, we also seek to develop students for Christian life and service.

The position is 40 hours/week for 9 months/year and pays $26,000-28,000 annually.

Duties

Coaching Leadership
1.

Assist the head coach in managing and supporting all aspects of the wrestling program
+ Comply with the mission and vision of Wheaton College; adhere to all College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and NCAA rules and regulations
+ Assist the head coach in all aspects related to recruiting, selecting, and retaining a minimum of 20-30 team members that reflect the profile of Wheaton College students
+ Monitor team standards
+ Assist the head coach in practice planning and conducting to prepare team for competition
+ Travel with team

Spiritual Leadership
1.

Assist the head coach in providing Christian discipleship to current student-athletes
+ Encourage and develop personal relationships with student-athletes
+ Encourage a holistic environment for the well-being of student-athletes

Administrative Leadership
1.

Assist the head coach in administrative duties as needed

Qualifications


* Bachelor's degree


* Collegiate wrestling experience


* Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes on and off of the mat


* Excellent communication skills


* A commitment to the values of NCAA Division III athletics and Christ-centered education

Physical Requirements

The person in this position must be able to drive/transport athletes; set up and take down wrestling equipment; and the ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50lbs.
