FT Evening Laundry Aide

General Purpose

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, and free from offensive orders.

Responsibilities


* Wash, dry, fold, and sort resident clothing and facility linens


* Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and assigned areas


* Keep laundry areas clean, organized, and safe


* Follow infection control and facility laundry procedures


* Handle resident belongings with care and respect


* Report any laundry concerns or equipment issues to the supervisor


* Assist with other housekeeping or laundry duties as assigned

Qualifications


* Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently


* Must have a caring and respectful attitude toward residents


* Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner


* Prior laundry, housekeeping, or nursing home experience preferred, but not required


* Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift


* Must work well as part of a team

Education and/or Experience

GED or High School Diploma

1 year of experience preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills

Reasoning Ability

Ability to problem solve and seek assistance when needed.
