Applications Engineer - HVAC
POSITION PURPOSE
The Applications Engineer - HVAC is responsible for providing timely and knowledgeable technical solutions as well as accurate and profitable product customization quotes to BAC Representatives to enhance their ability to sell BAC products.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
* Strong mechanical and technical aptitude in order to develop an in-depth knowledge of BAC’s extensive product offering
* Ability to read and understand consulting engineer drawings and equipment schedules.
* Requires excellent written communication and phone skills, flexibility in handling a wide range of tasks, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal and presentation skills
* Proficient in the use of office software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, and CPQ programs.
Working knowledge of Inventor would be beneficial.
* Strong team player orientation required to provide customer satisfaction in a dynamic environment, with a customer-focused (internal and external), “can-do”, professional demeanor, and sense of urgency
* Ability to resolve complex problems accurately and in a timely manner
NATURE & SCOPE
Reporting to the Applications Lead- HVAC, the Applications Engineer – HVAC provides technical applications support and customized quotes to BAC Representatives worldwide through oral and written communication, in a timely and accurate fashion.
This position will have interaction with all levels of Corporate Headquarters and the North American manufacturing plants.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Provide BAC Representatives with equipment selections, competitive product strategy, and systems knowledge
* Provide technical applications support and customization quotes to BAC Representatives worldwide through oral and written communication in a timely and accurate fashion
* Assist Quality Assurance and end users in troubleshooting problems with installed equipment
* Interact with all departments at BAC (Marketing, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Sales, Credit) to support quotations and orders
* Organize data and tools to improve the Product Applications process – Work with Engineering and Customer Service to improve order flow and processing of product customizations
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare and present technical presentations and training to department team members or sales representatives, as required
* Occasional travel to plants, representative offices or job sites visits to inspect installations, gather competitive information and give technical presentations to customers
