Information Technology Specialist I - Cloud Specialization
Salary Range: $10,214.44 - $14,109.50 monthly
SUMMARY
The Data & Analytics Unit is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare data to support decision-making across the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS).
The unit manages patient care and operational data, using analytics to identify patterns, predict outcomes, and improve service delivery.
The unit also ensures data integrity, governance, and regulatory compliance.
The Information Technology Specialist I supports and advances enterprise cloud modernization efforts with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure migration initiatives.
This role provides advanced technical expertise in assessing, planning, and executing migrations of on-premises systems, applications, and data platforms to Azure.
The position designs, implements, and optimizes secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and services while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, performance expectations, and long-term technology strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.
Serve as a senior technical resource for Azure cloud infrastructure and migration initiatives.
2.
Assess existing on-premises environments and develop Azure migration approaches for applications, data platforms, and supporting services.
3.
Design, configure, and implement Azure infrastructure components including virtual networks, compute, storage, identity, and security services.
4.
Execute and support migrations using Azure-native tools and industry best practices, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
5.
Implement hybrid and cloud-native architectures that support scalability, resiliency, and performance requirements.
6.
Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code templates to support repeatable and consistent deployments.
7.
Ensure Azure environments meet security, compliance, governance, and cost management standards.
8.
Establish and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures related to cloud environments.
9.
Collaborate with application, data, security, and DevOps teams to ensure cloud solutions integrate effectively with enterprise systems.
10.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and operational support for Azure-hosted systems, including root cause analysis and remediation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and system migrations, with demonstrated success transitioning legacy environments to Azure.
This role requires deep technical knowledge of Azure services, infrastructure design, security controls, and operational best practices.
Experience working in structured project environments and producing technical documentation and stakeholder-facing materials is required.
