Process Engineer - Quality Improvement

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated Business is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Process Engineer - Quality Improvement role supporting the Corrugated business.

This role will report to the Director of Corrugated Quality Improvement and can be located at any of our box plants.

This role requires up to 75% travel with the other 25% spent at the home site.

You will have the opportunity to apply your technical and quality capabilities to lead continuous improvement initiatives towards our quality systems and product quality.

This role will work with manufacturing sites, corporate engineering, and OEMs on technology integration and deployment.
The successful candidate in this role will be self-driven with a passion for leading continuous improvement initiatives.

The selected individual will have a proven track record of solving technical problems through the application of data analysis techniques and problem-solving methodology.

This individual will work cross-functionally to drive strategic quality initiatives throughout the organization.

What You Will Do


* Apply appropriate risk-based thinking (PFMEA) to proactively identify opportunities to reduce our quality risk profile.


* Interface with customers to understand their unmet needs and translate those into improvement initiatives at our site.


* Lead continuous improvement programs/projects aimed at reducing quality risk and reducing variability in our manufacturing processes through use of process engineering and application of technology such as AI and vision systems.


* Provide leadership role in building a quality capability across our Site through application of quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Gauge R&R, advanced problem solving, and 6 Sigma.


* Develop and recommend economically feasible improvement proposals to senior leadership.


* Demonstrate your ability to understand opportunities for improvement and solve complex problems by implementing sustainable solutions, and application.


* Provide effective communication with cross-functional teams (operating teams, customers, global quality colleagues).


* Lead team meetings, program management, and leadership engagement.
