Athletics Operations Coordinator

Cornell College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Athletics Operations Coordinator to support the Director of Athletics and ensure the smooth operation of our Athletics Department.

This is a dynamic role that blends administrative excellence with event coordination, student supervision, and interdepartmental collaboration.

Responsibilities


* Provide direct administrative support to the Director of Athletics.


* Coordinate event management staffing and game day protocols.


* Supervise work-study students for game day and building operations.


* Manage daily office operations and provide customer service in person, by phone, and online.


* Oversee budget-related tasks including vouchers, requisitions, and purchasing.


* Assemble and distribute competition schedules and rosters; ensure compliance with policies.


* Arrange team transportation and prepare contest agreements and official contracts.


* Onboard and train new coaching staff; coordinate with HR on hiring processes.


* Maintain athletics data and update the Athletics Staff Handbook.


* Assist with special events.

Qualifications and Education Requirements


* Bachelor’s degree preferred.


* Minimum of 3 years of relevant administrative experience preferred.


* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.


* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), database systems, and website content management.


* Excellent communication and customer service skills.


* Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently in a fast-paced environment.


* Experience with social media for athletics promotion is a plus.

Working Conditions & Benefits

The position is primarily in-person office-based with occasional indoor/outdoor event support.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, and climbing.

Evening and weekend availability required for events.
