IT Low Voltage Cable Technician

Job Title: IT Low Voltage Cable Technician Division: PPRMHI IT/System Division Department: HQ IT/Systems Section: HQ IT/ Systems Location: PPRM Hawaii Reporting To: IT Infrastructure Directed Director FLSA Classification: Exempt Employment Type: Salaried Compensation: $50,000 - $70,000 / Yearly Revision Date: 08/27/2026 POSITION SUMMARY: The Low Voltage Cable Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of structured cabling and low-voltage systems supporting PPRM USA Company operations.

This position supports endpoint cabling of devices including but not limited to Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, Self-Checkout (SCO) systems, computers, printers, wireless access points (APs), security cameras, music and paging speakers, digital signage, and related network-connected equipment.

The technician performs low-voltage cable installation projects at all PPRM USA locations throughout Hawaii and California while ensuring compliance with applicable State of Hawaii and State of California requirements, National Electrical Code (NEC), building standards, and company installation guidelines.

Work frequently occurs during non-business hours to minimize disruption to store operations.

The position supports a collaborative infrastructure environment across PPRM Hawaii, Gelsons, Marukai California, and Vanshow while maintaining standardized operational practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (responsibilities include, but are not limited to): Install, terminate, label, test, and certify Category 5e, Category 6, Category 6A, fiber optic, and other low-voltage cabling systems.

Install and support cabling infrastructure that includes but limited to: o Point-of-Sale (POS) systems o Self-Checkout (SCO) systems o Desktop computers and laptops o Network printers o Wireless Access Points (APs) o IP security cameras o Music and paging speaker systems o Digital signage and related network devices Install conduit, cable pathways, and J-hook systems in accordance with State and applicable NEC regulatory requirements.

Route, secure, support, and organize cabling to maintain professional and code-compliant installations.

Conduct cable testing and certification using industry-standard testing equipment.

Troubleshoot cable faults, connectivity problems, and physical layer network issues.

Perform service calls to diagnose and repair cabling and endpoint infrastructure failures.

Install and mount network equipment, cabinets, racks, patch panels, cameras, and associated devices.

Maintain cable labeling standards and accurate documentation of installed infrastructure.
