Manager of Software Engineering - Encompass Administrator

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities


* Proven track record in supporting mortgage operations by enhancing workflow efficiency, ensuring compliance, and managing system integrations.


* Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers/system analysts on daily tasks and activities.


* Ensures optimal performance of all Home Lending systems leading to enhanced productivity and adherence to compliance regulations.


* Design and maintain custom input forms, business rules, field triggers, loan programs, and personas to streamline lending workflows.


* Support system upgrades, testing, and change management, ensuring minimal disruption during releases.


* Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.


* Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks.


* Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.


* Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary, along with ensuring successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.


* Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team.


* Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.

In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise


* Experienced Encompass Administrator with over 7+ years of hands-on expertise in configuring, customizing, and maintaining the Encompass LOS platform to support retail, wholesale, and correspondent lending channels.


* Familiarity with API calls, Encompass plugins, OOP framework, and version control tools like GitHub.


* Exposure to JavaScript, particularly in the context of Encompass Web.


* Experience in writing and maintaining REST / SOAP Based APIs.


* Working Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git -based workflows or configuration-as-code practices.
