Continued Operational Safety Engineer

At Chromalloy, we work with the FAA through a global Continued Operational Safety (COS) program run by our Airworthiness team.

The goal is to make sure every part we manufacture/repair stays safe and airworthy for its entire life.

We do this by collecting and analyzing data from Chromalloy PMA parts, OEM parts, and FAA approved repairs that have been in service.

The Eastern Region COS Engineer will be stationed at Chromalloy New York (Orangeburg, NY) and will have responsibility for data collection and analysis at Orangeburg as well as Chromalloy Connecticut (Hartford, Ct) and Chromalloy Component Services (San Antonio, Tx).

 

Key Responsibilities:


* Conduct visual inspections of OEM and PMA parts, and FAA approved repairs; document conditions through photography.


* Upload images and part data into the COS database.


* Analyze collected data and generate technical reports summarizing part condition and trend insights.


* Track and evaluate reject reasons for PMA, OEM, and DER-repaired parts at repair sites.


* Communicate findings and technical observations to the PMA holder, Airworthiness Director, and COS Manager.


* Provide engineering recommendations based on data analysis and field observations.


* Prepare and present technical reports as needed.


* Offer engineering support to repair sites as required.

Qualifications:


* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.


* Understanding of basic statistical analysis.


* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including database tools.


* Basic mechanical and repair knowledge.


* Knowledge of propulsion and powerplant systems is preferred.


* Familiarity with jet engines and their components is preferred.


* Strong oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.


* Willingness to travel up to 25%.
