Audiologist Lead - Cochlear Implant

Nemours is seeking a Lead Cochlear Implant Audiologist to lead a highly visible Cochlear Implant program at Nemours Children's Health in Orlando, Florida.

Primary job: Lead Cochlear Implant Audiologist / Clinical Coordinator


* Seeking a CI dedicated audiologist to lead a highly visible Cochlear Implant program in collaboration with an integrative team and institutional resources.


* Responsibility will involve audiological management, care coordination, professional education, scholarship and outreach/growth initiatives for our Cochlear Implant Program.

This individual is expected to work closely with our Medical Director of Audiology, Speech AVT lead, Device and Implant Coordinator, and Audiology Program manager to facilitate continued growth of the Cochlear Implant program.

Additional responsibilities include:


* Comprehensive audiometric pediatric services, including hearing evaluations, patient examination, intervention, documentation, patient/parent/caretaker education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate with the guidelines designated by the department and Nemours Children's Hospital.

Actively participates in departmental education activities to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice.

Essential Functions:


* Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for families, staff, and outside educational institutions.

Provide counseling, education, and resources to ensure that children with hearing and/or communication disorders can acquire optimal language skills and academic abilities regardless of the mode of communication.

Stay current with federal and state early childhood intervention and special education laws with regards to hearing and speech.


* Facilitate outreach to educational and other non-traditional referral sources; this individual will partner with the Educational Specialist and Hospital School Program serving as a subject matter expert and support to the liaison role between Nemours and educational institutions throughout the Central Florida area ensuring the educational needs of our patients are understood
