Executive Protection Specialist
The Executive Protection Specialist is a strategic and operational leader responsible for safeguarding the organization's people, assets, and reputation.
This role will provide for the welfare, physical protection, and security of a high-profile executive by performing armed and/or unarmed executive protection assignments.
This role combines program oversight, risk intelligence, and tactical execution to mitigate threats, and enhance the enterprise executive's security posture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight & Risk Management
* Develop and implement corporate security protocols, standards, and emergency response procedures.
* Lead quarterly risk assessments and monthly intelligence briefs to inform executive decision-making.
* Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments across domestic and international operations.
* Advise senior leadership on security risks and mitigation strategies, including crisis management planning.
Operational Execution
* Provide close protection and other security-related functions for the client during domestic and/or international assignments;
* Perform protective advance planning and threat vulnerability assessments.
* Effectively manage the client and/or their family/representative requests against the need to ensure all safety and security precautions.
* Transport executive and/or family members to events and appointments, using evasive and/or defensive driving tactics, as needed.
* Manage executive protection logistics, including travel safety, venue assessments, and coordination with law enforcement.
* Conduct investigations into security breaches, misconduct, or threats, and document findings thoroughly.
* Complete suspicious activity reports, incident reports.
shift logs, pattern of life reports, medical treatment reports, and other administrative requirements.
* Assist with protection schedules and team assignments.
* Promptly identify and escalate deficiencies/failures.
* All other duties, as assigned.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, HR, Compliance, Aviation, Real Estate) and external agencies (law enforcement, vendors).
* Provide training and guidance to staff on security protocols and emergency procedures.
* Maintain networks with security professionals to stay current on emerging threats and best practices.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or corporate security, with proven leadership in executive protection and risk analysis.
Skills & Certifications
* Advanced planning, analytical, and communication skills.
* Tactical and evasive driving certifications preferred.
* AED/First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain.
* LEOSA certification (H.R.
218) for armed protection roles.
