Your Job

We are seeking an enthusiastic Entry-Level Chemical Engineer or an Engineer within another Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Paper Science, Process Engineering) to support process optimization and continuous improvement at our pulp and paper mill.

This is an exciting opportunity for soon-to-be college graduates who want to apply their classroom learning, lab projects, and internship experiences in a real-world manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will learn how to apply statistical process control (SPC), disciplined operations, and problem-solving methods to drive improvements in quality, safety, and efficiency.

You will work closely with multiple departments, such as process control, quality, operations, and maintenance, to help sustain reliable and stable mill performance.

What You Will Do


* Receive mentorship and professional development from experienced engineers and technical leaders to accelerate your growth.


* Learn and apply decision making framework and statistical process control (SPC) tools to monitor and analyze process variability.


* Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to support principle-based problem-solving and production reliability.


* Assist in identifying opportunities to create mutual benefit and value creation through process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements.


* Help translate data into actionable results using data decision matrices, mental models, and engineering principles.


* Support disciplined operations by reinforcing standard operating practices.


* Contribute to cross-functional projects and team initiatives that improve mill performance.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* A near and upcoming expected graduation date in Chemical Engineering or another Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Paper Science, Process Engineering).


* Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply concepts learned in coursework, labs, and projects.


* Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate in team environments.


* Demonstrated problem-solving ability through academic projects, research, or internships.


* Willingness to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

What Will Put You Ahead


* Internship, co-op, or research experience in manufacturing, pulp and paper, or another continuous process industry.


* Exposure to SPC, Six Sigma, or Lean principles through coursework, internships, or student organizations.
