Sr Platform Engineer

Georgia- Pacific is looking for a Sr Platform Engineer.

This person will play a key role in the implementation and ongoing improvement of our Platform Engineering practices across GP.

We are looking for an experienced candidate with the knowledge and aptitude to help drive modernization, optimization, and innovation across the capabilities we're responsible for, who will challenge our internal process and existing methodologies with the aim to revolutionizing how we create value within Georgia Pacific.

Our Team

Our team manages Georgia Pacific's multi-cloud platform, focusing on modernization, cloud optimization, maintenance of cloud native workloads and edge workloads.

We collaborate with engineers and leaders to address issues affecting team performance by implementing tools, processes, or products that streamline daily activities.

This role is based in the Atlanta Georgia-Pacific HQ.

The expectation is usually three days in office per week.

What You Will Do

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure leveraging the well-architected framework

• Implement and managed our monitoring solution using Grafana, to ensure the health and performance of our platform and critical applications

• Design and implement solutions to optimization our AWS resources and cloud cost

• Support critical platforms including consulting, debugging, break/fix execution, and participation in the on-call rotation

• Engage with customers, partners, peers to build and deliver cloud native technologies that support high-value business outcomes

Who Are You (Basic Qualifications)

• Previous experience in administrating a cloud platform (AWS, Azure) with an emphasis on enterprise governance, support, automation and development

• Previous experience creating and maintaining infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools

• Previous experience managing a GitHub organization DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code experience in GitHub Actions

• Previous experience developing and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems using Grafana, Prometheus, and other tools

• Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

• Previous experience managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS using EKS

• Previous experience in container orchestration using tools like ArgoCD and Rancher
