Vice President of Hospital Operations

Set the vision for hospital services as focused on overall quality of care, patient safety, patient and family experience, standards of care, leadership development, succession planning, and fiscal responsibility while adhering to ethical directives.

Is a champion for the Service Excellence Initiative.

Works within a collaborative and inter-professional environment, influencing and improving the patient experience of care, improving the health of populations, and reducing cost of healthcare.

EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE:
1.

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an Accredited University or College.
2.

Licenses Current Colorado RN License
3.

Certifications Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS
4.

Experience Minimum of 3 years of Managerial experience, in a hospital setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Ancillary Services
1.

Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
2.

Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
3.

Oversee in the development and execution of operating plans and metrics for hospital programs, including financial and revenue growth, operations, labor management, supply management, equipment management, contract management, policies, practices and clinical outcomes.
4.

Provides education and training
5.

Develops budgets, policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure of ancillary services.
6.

Develops and maintains effective relationships with physicians
7.

Develops positive and effective work relationships with all levels of management and departments
8.

Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to measure and assess the quality of services provided.
9.

Coordinates and integrates ancillary services practices with nursing services and other clinical services
10.

Participate in the development of ancillary managers, leaders, and teams
11.

Periodically evaluates supplies and equipment for scientific merit, cost effectiveness and patient safety, making recommendation to Directors and Operations/Purchasing.
12.

Oversight of Lab and Respiratory Therapy.
13.

Other job related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – Nursing Services
1.

Assists the CNO in developing and managing the nursing services budget and ensuring sufficient number of qualified staff to assess patient needs
2.

Ensures that continuous performance improvement initiatives are designed to measure and improve the quality of care delivered and are consistent with the organization priorities.
3.

Represents the nursing services at meetings as deemed necessary; participates with department leaders in designing and providing patient care and services
