Controls Systems Engineer

INVISTA has an immediate need for a Control Systems Engineer at our site in Seaford, DE.

This position is a key site leadership role and is expected to work with a team that will create long-term value by utilizing industry best-practices, embracing new technologies, and transforming our approaches to creating superior value for our customers, community, and employees, while expediting the skill development of the shift-based personnel across the Seaford site.

The Control Systems Engineer is an integral part of the Technical Team at INVISTA Seaford Site.

This role's primary focus is to bring expert knowledge to the site with respect to DCS, PLC, network infrastructure, data historians and server applications.

The goal of the Control Systems Engineer is to ensure maximum value is realized from control systems asset - DCS, PLC, OSI PI, and MES.

The position requires strong ownership, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.

What You Will Do


* Implement, program, and troubleshoot on DCS/PLC


* Review project documentation such as P&IDs and process descriptions to define control systems hardware and software requirements


* Program and test DCS logic, design high performance HMI graphics, support startup and commissioning activities


* Bring best practice knowledge on the implementation of procedural automation, alarm management and controller performance monitoring


* Collaborate with Operations, PCN/IT, and maintenance/reliability teams, design/support and implement highly efficient solutions related to industrial controls and analytics


* Train of plant personnel on DCS, HMI, and related infrastructure


* Reverse-engineer logic from legacy control systems for DCS migration


* Design input and cost estimation for capital equipment and automation projects


* Provide oversight and direction to vendors and third-party integrators/providers for control systems implementation and upgrades


* Manage Process Control Network (PCN) equipment including Windows servers and desktop PCs.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering


* Three (3) or more years' experience working in manufacturing/process environment


* Experience with vendor DCS/PLC and HMI systems (i.e.

Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens, etc.)


* Willing and able to work after standard hours as business permits (general hours are M-F days)


* Willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (for example: hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety work boots, etc.

What Will Put You Ahead


* Experience working in applied industrial control environments, specifically with Honeywell TPS/TDC3000 and Experion DCS systems


* Experience with Rockwell/Siemens PLC's, Drives, and visualization (HMI) platforms


* Experience with Wonderware MES


* Experience with safety instrumented systems such as Boiler Manage...
