What You'll Do As a Substitute Dental Assisting Instructor, you'll step in when regular instructors are unavailable and assist department faculty with classroom, laboratory, and hands-on learning activities.

You'll help students stay engaged, continue developing their skills, and make progress toward their educational goals.

In this role, you will: Provide classroom and laboratory instruction following established curriculum and course outlines.

Assist students with curriculum questions, assignments, and hands-on learning activities.

Demonstrate dental assisting procedures, equipment, and industry best practices.

Adapt instructional materials and equipment to support learning objectives established by faculty.

Provide individualized guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback.

Monitor student activities, attendance, and progress as needed.

Maintain a safe, organized, and professional learning environment.

Promote proper infection control practices, patient safety, and the safe use of dental equipment and facilities.

Communicate effectively with students, instructors, and department staff to support continuity of instruction.

Assist with basic classroom organization, documentation, and clerical tasks.

Perform other duties as assigned.
