Job Requisition: Maintenance Mechanic- B&E Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic B&E Location: North Platte, Nebraska Job Summary Sustainable Beef is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic -B&E Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial boilers, utility systems, and associated plant equipment.

This position ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operations through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and compliance with established safety standards.

Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on boilers, steam systems, pumps, valves, compressors, and utility equipment.Monitor equipment performance and identify mechanical issues to minimize downtime.Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures.Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment procedures.Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage through CMMS.Collaborate with Maintenance leadership and other departments to address equipment failures.Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO, confined space, respiratory protection, OSHA, USDA, and GMP requirements.Participate in required training and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred.Previous industrial maintenance, boiler operations, or utilities experience strongly preferred.Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial utility systems.Welding, fabrication, and general mechanical repair skills preferred.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Functional & Safety Requirements MANDATORY: Successful completion of the required respiratory fit test and applicable medical clearance is required for placement in this position.

Ability to Pass Ammonia Operator 1 training within one year of hire.Ability to properly wear required respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, noisy, and industrial environments.Ability to work flexible schedules, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
