Finance Accountant - Nursery, TX / Salary Grade 10
The Finance Accountant is entrusted with ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable functions, encompassing invoice processing, expense reporting, and payment reconciliation.
This position entails the preparation, review, and analysis of accounting records, financial statements, and associated reports to maintain compliance with established standards and procedures.
Additionally, the Finance Accountant provides support across various accounting office activities, assisting during staff absences to ensure seamless financial operations.
Responsibilities further include cash flow management, financial forecasting, credit rating updates, transmission cost-of-service filings, bond payments, preparation of board reports, compliance reporting, budgeting for finance-related matters, as well as journal processing and reconciliation for financial transactions.
Working Conditions General office and sedentary.
Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach and bend using 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.
May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions Ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, expense reporting, and payment reconciliation Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and associated reports to maintain compliance Supporting various accounting office activities and assisting during staff absences Managing cash flow and conducting financial forecasting Updating credit ratings and handling transmission cost-of-service filings Processing bond payments and preparing board reports Conducting compliance reporting and budgeting for finance-related matters Processing and reconciling journals for financial transactions Conducting detailed financial data analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement Preparing financial reports and presentations to support management decision-making Evaluating financial performance metrics and providing actionable recommendations Overseeing strategic financial planning and aligning financial goals with overall organizational objectives Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and implementing risk management strategies Leading initiatives to optimize capital structure and investment strategies Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
