Swine Selection Tech

The Market Hog Selector is responsible for identifying and selecting the appropriate hogs for market according to established company marketing criteria.

This position supports the accurate and efficient movement of market hogs while maintaining proper inventory, communication, biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety standards.

During the initial training period, the Market Hog Selector will receive direction and supervision to learn company procedures and expectations.

After approximately 90 days, the employee is expected to perform the primary responsibilities of the position independently with limited supervision.Schedule A typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Essential Job Functions The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to: · Profile finishing farms during sales periods to project sales of pigs according to desired marketing criteria.

· Identify and select market hogs based on established company marketing requirements.

· Accurately manage hog inventory throughout the sale process until the farm is cleaned out and prepared to receive new pigs.

· Communicate effectively with contract growers, truck dispatch, loading teams, regional service personnel, and other appropriate personnel regarding changes to the sales schedule.

· Communicate any changes to the sales schedule immediately to ensure proper coordination of loading and transportation activities.

· Follow all company biosecurity protocols and guidelines.

· Assist teammates with the weekly weighing of market hogs.

· Report major damages, equipment concerns, or other significant issues to the appropriate supervisor.

· Champion a strong safety culture and promote safe work practices.

· Follow and adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and biosecurity protocols.

· Perform other duties as assigned.
