PLC Technician

Position Summary: This position is responsible for installing, calibrating, testing and maintaining electronic/robotic manufacturing devices and systems by utilizing automation system program language, troubleshooting electronic systems and peripherals to ensure proper functionality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate thorough understanding of industrial control systems and Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs) Install, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment Replace defective components and wiring, and adjust mechanical parts Effectively maintain programming, hardware networking and communication; troubleshoot, determine causes of failure, and perform corrective actions; oversee full industrial control system project implementation on both hardware and software problems Support predictive and preventative maintenance program Support internal projects Support plant control system upgrades Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements Assists and/or performs in all areas as assigned, including supporting maintenance activities Minimum Qualifications Demonstrates proficiency in the use and maintenance process instrumentation, controls, and calibration equipment Performs detail-oriented tasks using intermediate language skills and math skills Advance knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) operation and programming Ability to navigate Building Management Systems (BMS) system to operate and quickly understand system issues Must be comfortable working in and around industrial manufacturing equipment.

Preferred Qualifications Associates Degree in electronics/technical field 4 or more years of journeyman level electrical experience or Instrumentation & Controls experience
