Maintenance I - Part Time

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Maintenance I Technician to join our Facilities team.
This position works to help maintain the buildings and grounds of Pines Village and ensure our community remains a clean, safe, attractive, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and employees.
The Maintenance I Technician assists with routine building maintenance, grounds upkeep, security, housekeeping-related tasks, and responding to facility needs as they arise.
This position requires someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, able to work independently, and comfortable interacting with older adults in a courteous and respectful manner.
Key Responsibilities Perform minor and routine maintenance throughout the buildings and grounds.Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and general facility maintenance tasks within the scope of the position.Complete assigned work orders and routine Maintenance I checklists.Perform routine building and security checks to help maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.Assist with floor and carpet care, including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, shampooing, and other custodial tasks as needed.Replace light bulbs, smoke detectors, and other routine facility items as needed.Keep entrances, parking lots, walkways, and common areas clean and clear of debris.Assist with snow and ice removal during inclement weather as needed.Respond appropriately to resident and facility needs and communicate maintenance concerns to the Facilities Director or appropriate team member.Assist with room and event setup and breakdown as needed.Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and required personal protective equipment.Support other departments and team members when appropriate and within the scope of the position.Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.
Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent.Previous maintenance, security, custodial, and/or janitorial experience preferred, particularly within a retirement community, long-term care facility, apartment complex, or similar environment.Working knowledge of floor and/or carpet maintenance and related equipment preferred.Ability to learn and follow established procedures and schedules and work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to follow oral and written instructions and effectively communicate with residents, coworkers, and supervisors.Ability to prioritize assignments, respond appropriately to unexpected situations, and recognize when assistance is needed.Must possess a valid State of Indiana driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.CPR certification required or ability to obtain certification as required by Pines Village.
