Lead Snow Shoveler (Full-Time, Seasonal) - Winter 26/27

SUMMARY Assist the Facilities Manager in coordinating and directing a daily snow removal crew of 28 employees.

Oversee snow removal operations and projects, ensuring walkways, decks, stairs, and other public areas are cleared and maintained for safe access by guests and employees.

Monitor and address Base area overhead hazards, including icicles, cornices, and roof-slide areas.

Perform rooftop snow removal and ice dam removal as needed, while applying sand and chipping ice in high-traffic areas to maintain safe winter conditions throughout the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Communicates with Facilities Manager to prioritize and delegate daily tasks.Maintains safe access in public areas via shoveling chipping, sanding, and snow blowing.Clears snow to maintain access to emergency exits in base areasIdentify and maintain overhead hazards in base area.

Including icicles, cornices, and roof slide areas.Preforms rooftop snow removal and ice dam removal in accordance with required fall protection protocol and PPE.Works at heights and uses ladders safely.Ensures crew members are operating in accordance with fall protection protocol and ladder safety protocol.Follows instructions from Facilities Manager and Base Operations Director to complete daily tasks.

Collaborates with team members to efficiently accomplish tasks.Maintains and accounts for tools and equipment that are used daily.

Communicates equipment issues with supervisor/ manager.

This includes damaged fall protection equipment, mechanical issues with snowblowers, and broken/ missing hand tools Maintains a professional, courteous and friendly attitude towards guests and coworkers at all times.Operates a skid steer and/or fork truck when needed.Some job sharing required.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY: Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resorts Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position oversees a staff of 2-8 shovelers.

WORK SCHEDULE Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week.

This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours.

Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED.

Prior supervisory/foreman experience preferred.
