Manager for the Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, and Accounting (FEFA) Area
Job Description
The Manager of the FEFA Area provides critical operational, academic, and student support for the Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, and Accounting (FEFA) area - the School of Business’s largest academic area.
Reporting directly to FEFA Chair, the role supports more than 33 faculty members and is essential to maintaining the day-to-day operations and student services within the area.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
* Providing administrative support to the FEFA Chair and coordinating undergraduate and graduate program operations across Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, and Accounting programs.
* Coordinating and scheduling Faculty Activity Report (FAR) reviews for FEFA faculty.
* Scheduling and managing FEFA Area Academic Committee meetings and faculty meetings throughout the academic year.
* Providing logistical coordination for meetings and events, including room reservations, catering, materials preparation, and event support.
* Hiring and coordinating student workers, including Graders, Graduate Assistants (GAs), and Research Assistants (RAs).
* Organizing seminar series and academic events across the FEFA disciplines.
* Supporting graduate enrollment initiatives in collaboration with FEFA Program Directors and Graduate Admissions, including graduate open houses, webinars, prospective student outreach, yield management efforts, and Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP) initiatives.
* Managing student-facing communications, including newsletters, course information, registration resources, FAQ materials, and related communications.
* Independently coordinating and executing major annual events, including boot camps, executive education conferences, workshops, alumni events, club activities, roundtables, and Board of Advisors meetings.
* Collaborating with the Center for Student Success (CSS) on advising and academic support matters, including study plans, transfer credits, program changes, and academic performance monitoring.
* Managing operational support for six summer international finance programs hosted in the Hanlon Financial Systems Center, including IT coordination for Bloomberg terminal access, food service, and on-campus logging logistics.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in higher education or a related field.
* Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
* Experience supervising staff or student workers.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Experience with Coursedog, Workday, Canvas, and Tableau, preferred.
Working Conditions
* Hybrid work arrangement (2–3 days per week on campus).
