Hydrology and Hydraulics Project Engineer-H&H Engineer

Job Overview Assist in designing H&H projects from preliminary to final design.Collaborate with the complimentary disciplines (roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, public involvement and environmental) to develop transportation projects such as roadway, bridge, rail, transportation planning, and preliminary design for environmental documents.Compile data, perform and check dimensional and routine calculations, and ensure compliance with required design criteria.Mentor less experienced engineers or EITs.

Requirements Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering4-10 years of civil / H&H design experienceTexas PE or ability to obtain within 6 monthsProficient in MicroStation, ProjectWise, OpenRoads and InRoads/GeopakExperience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, and Hydraulic ToolboxBasic to advanced knowledge of 3D modelingBasic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writingThe ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with Engineers, Designers, and ClientsWilling to mentor younger engineers or EITsPossess critical thinking skills necessary to plan, conceptualize and anticipate next stepsCapable of recognizing conflicts and discrepancies with strong attention to detailAbility to work effectively on a team of engineers, technical experts and designers, as well as working independently with little supervisionTxDOT project experience (other DOT is acceptable), and TxDOT pre-certification is preferred.
