Mission Valley Post Acute is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Dietary Cook to join our team.

In this important role, you will help create nutritious, appetizing meals that support our residents' health, well-being, and overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities


* Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines


* Ensure meals meet residents' nutritional requirements and physician-ordered diets


* Modify food preparation to accommodate special dietary needs, including diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets


* Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety standards


* Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment


* Properly store, label, and rotate food items to ensure freshness and compliance


* Assist with inventory management and communicate supply needs to leadership


* Support meal service operations and ensure proper portion control


* Collaborate with dietary staff and interdisciplinary team members to provide excellent resident care

Qualifications


* Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or food service setting preferred


* Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets is a plus


* Current Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain upon hire


* Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations


* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment


* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


* Reliable attendance and punctuality


* Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
