Senior Policy Advisor / Reengineering Lead
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on policy support activities, including interpretation of relevant statutes, regulations, and executive directives.
- Serve as a key point of contact with government representatives and stakeholders on policy-related matters, participating in routine status updates and working sessions as needed.
- Oversee the development of policy deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with program objectives and requirements.
- Provide direction and oversight to personnel supporting policy research, analysis, and development activities.
- Review and approve policy-related products prior to submission.
- Identify and assess policy-related risks, issues, and dependencies, and coordinate mitigation strategies with project leadership.
- Support the preparation of reports, briefings, and other required deliverables, including contributing to policy-related content as applicable.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs research goals and strategic planning for policy analysis.
- Examines the current and potential impacts of policy implementation.
- Engages with policymakers, academics, or other stakeholders to identify and gather insight.
- Communicates key findings to decision makers and stakeholders.
- May develop metrics around policy education and planning.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
- Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
- Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 10+ years of relevant professional experience required.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy analysis, strategic planning, program operations, or other closely related disciplines, with a comprehensive understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and programs, establish priorities, and drive successful outcomes in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Advanced experience conducting research, evaluating policy issues, and developing data-driven recommendations to support organizational and stakeholder objectives.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex policy, regulatory, and operational impacts and translate findings into actionable guidance.
