Job Summary
Remotely control and monitor product flow in various terminals and company owned pipeline assets from a centralized Pipeline Control Center via a highly automated Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
Assure daily receipt and deliveries are met within DOT regulatory and tariff requirements while optimizing equipment usage.
Maintain safe and reliable operations in compliance with company and DOT regulatory requirements.
Controller responsibilities involve periods of routine activities intermixed with periodic abnormal operating conditions requiring quick actions during stressful situations, such as the shutting down of pipelines for evaluation of any perceived problems.
Support CITGO's Pricing Department by providing after-hours product allocation support to CITGO equity, exchange and expense T/A terminals using the DTN-TABS allocation system for CITGO branded, and unbranded and diesel products.
Assist customer transport drivers with loading problems at CITGO operated terminals.
Support terminal load rack activities related to the terminal automation system.
Minimum Qualifications
* Minimum of a High School Diploma required
* Prior related work experience preferred
* DOT/PHMSA Operator Qualification certification preferred
* Excellent communication skills required
* Experience with computerized SCADA systems preferred
* Must have strong ability to multitask
* Pre-screening job aptitude testing may be required to confirm abilities to perform job related duties
* Specialized job duties may require up to 6 months of advanced training prior to being commissioned to work independently on an operational console.
* Modified Dupont Work Schedule (12 hour shift work) required.
* Some overtime required.
Job Duties
Operate and monitor pipeline and detrimental automation systems - duties include but not limited to starting and stopping pumps, opening and closing valves, monitoring tank levels and SCADA analog points such as temperature, pressure, and gravity, and monitoring scheduled movements.
Review and implement daily pipeline schedules.
Print and verify custody transfer tickets.
Perform daily terminal balance.
