Job description
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes for advanced ceramic components.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production that meets stringent aerospace standards.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in high throughput casting or ceramics manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for advancing aerospace technology.

Responsibilities


* Develop, evaluate, and optimize complex manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce defects, and minimize cycle times per quality control standards.


* Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to production teams, troubleshooting process issues and implementing corrective actions to ensure consistent quality and throughput.


* Lead initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste.


* Specify, evaluate, and maintain manufacturing equipment and tooling, ensuring optimal production performance and safety.


* Create, oversee, and maintain detailed process SOP documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and technical reports, using tools like Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).

Train as needed as per training requirements.


* Work in collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to support new product introductions and process scale-up.


* Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure processes comply with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, customer specifications, and aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP).


* Ensure processes adhere to safety standards, including proper handling of hazardous materials (e.g., ceramic powders, liquid resins) and conducting risk assessments.

Qualifications


* B.S in Mechanical, Materials, Ceramics, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

Will accept applicants with appropriate experience and skills but no degree.


* 8+ years' hands on experience in injection molding, composite/ceramics manufacturing environment or 5+ years' experience in manufacturing or related applicable industry experience.


* Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD) for designing tooling, jigs, fixtures


* Experience working in high throughput environment to solve manufacturing quality issues using statistics data that contribute to product defects.
