Facilities Technician (Albany, OR)
Facilities Technician
Primary Purpose:
The Facilities Technician maintains the company's facilities, which can include: repair of interior and exterior with lumber, drywall, or sheet metal, cleaning inside and outside of building and grounds, working on plumbing, moving furniture, painting, yard work, dumping waste and garbage with forklift, and other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities :
* Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and clean facility buildings and grounds including, but not limited to: doors, windows, structure and supports, fencing, equipment, painting, and flooring
* Complete work in a timely manner; triage work orders and requests to prioritize the most critical needs
* Schedule maintenance or repairs to minimize disruptions to organizational operations wherever possible
* Clean designated industrial areas with pressure washer, mop, etc.
* Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed parts and supplies and placing orders
* Perform and document routine inspections and maintenance activities
* Perform heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
* Notify management of deficiencies or needed repairs
* Act as an assistant with equipment as needed
* Use hand and power tools such as: drill, saw, torch, jacks, ladders, cranes, and high lift
* Maintain clear communication with supervisor and with Operations regarding status of repairs
* Use forklift to dispose of plant waste
* Provide proper record keeping, documentation, and information for machine, equipment, and facility files
* Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
* Basic computer and communication skills (both verbal and written) required
* Experience and foundational knowledge of building repairs, sheetrock repair, installing doors, windows, and hanging fixtures required
* Must be self-motivated to complete tasks with limited direction
* Forklift, and arial platform training or experience preferred
* Demonstrated ability to follow all established safe work procedures including, but not limited to personal protection equipment, safety lockout/tag-out, confined space, respiratory, and elevated work areas
* Use all required hand and power tools including, but not limited to; drill, saw, torch, and jacks, as well as ladders, cranes, high lift, and other maintenance equipment
Schedule:
* Weekday shift (Monday-Friday)
* May be required to handle off shift and emergency call-in
* Overtime is offered based on business needs
