Job Description:
The Material Handler is esponsible for efficiently managing inbound and outbound orders, this role encompasses various warehouse functions to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
* Drives forklift to move product and materials when required.
* Provides on-the-job training and back-up coverage in key areas as needed.
* Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy, completion, and reconciliation of purchase orders.
* Conducts and audits cycle counts.
* Assists supervisor with special projects.
* Research production issues and expedite product as necessary.
* Follows and promote safety initiatives and assist in development of safety programs.
* Supports Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Way
* Supports, maintains, and sustains 6S initiatives.
* Complete and retain MasterBrand Cabinets powered industrial equipment certification to include industrial forklift and aerial platform (required).
* Train new associates and/or cross-train associates.
* Update HxH or communication boards as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
* Ability to work safely and productively with a focus on leadership.
* Demonstrated competence in required math skills and accurate use of tape measure.
* Forklift certification and experience.
* Demonstrated ability to navigate Friedman systems.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem solve, and provide solutions to inventory problems.
* Demonstrated ability to lead production and actively support department initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and resolve issues with internal vendors, customers, associates, and supervisors in an effective and positive manner.
* Ability to maintain production goals, including flexible hours as required.
* Maintain positive attitude, teamwork, and cooperation.
Work Environment:
* Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts, and cabinet-making related materials such as wood glue, requiring eye protection.
* Exposure to hot and cold temperatures due to non-climate-controlled environment.
* Exposure to sounds over 85 dB, requiring ear protection.
Sensory/ Physical Requirements:
* Frequent speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision and touch.
