Position Summary

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.

You may also assist in supervising kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities


* Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines


* Ensure compliance with special and therapeutic diets, including texture-modified meals


* Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment


* Follow food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards


* Monitor and record food temperatures


* Assist with meal service and ensure appealing food presentation


* Maintain proper sanitizer levels and follow cleaning schedules


* Clean kitchen equipment, work areas, and serving carts


* Collaborate with dietary team and other departments


* Report resident concerns or issues to leadership as needed


* Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent required


* At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care


* Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification


* Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary needs


* Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred


* Strong teamwork and communication skills


* Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
