Physician Assistant – Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Hours may vary based on operational needs.

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to:


* To collaborate with a multidisciplinary health care team that includes urologic and colorectal sub-specialties.


* Demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise in providing primary, secondary and/or tertiary healthcare in the inpatient, outpatient or ambulatory settings for complex patients.


* Educate patients and their families in order to promote wellness, improve and maintain current health as well as intervention in acute and chronic urogynecologic diagnoses.

Act as a resource to all staff in the care of complex patients.


* Assist the team in providing continuity of care from ambulatory status to inpatient discharge process, assisting nursing, physicians and surgical residents by providing care, teaching protocols and improving the quality of services.


* Perform history and physical exams, order appropriate diagnostic tests, develop pre and post treatment/operative plans of care, intervene in acute episodes, write medication and nursing care orders; and communicate with consulting services.


* Perform pessary fitting and pessary maintenance.


* Perform procedures including outpatient gynecologic biopsies with expansion to trigger point injections and nerve blocks.


* To first assist in the OR


* Support the educational mission of the division and participate in student clinical rotations

Education:
Minimum -


* Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum -


* Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND Active PA board certification.


* Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire; CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP).
