Banquet Captain

The Banquet Captain is responsible for leading the on-floor execution of banquets, weddings, meetings, and private events at Hotel Ella.

This role serves as the main service leader during assigned events and ensures each event is set, staffed, and executed according to the BEO, client expectations, and Hotel Ella service standards.

The Banquet Captain works closely with the Events, Culinary, Bar, Stewarding, and Management teams to confirm event details, organize staff assignments, oversee room setup, guide service timing, and manage breakdown.

This position requires strong attention to detail, professional communication, and the ability to lead calmly during fast-paced events.

Key Responsibilities


* Review BEOs before each event to understand room setup, timeline, menu, beverage needs, staffing, rentals, special requests, and client expectations.


* Lead banquet servers and support staff during setup, service, and breakdown.


* Confirm tables, chairs, linens, place settings, bars, buffets, stations, signage, and service areas are properly set before guest arrival.


* Communicate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure food and beverage service runs on time and matches the event timeline.


* Serve as the primary on-floor contact for event execution, guest needs, client requests, and service adjustments.


* Maintain a polished, professional, and hospitality-focused presence throughout the event.


* Monitor service flow, guest satisfaction, cleanliness, and overall presentation.


* Ensure banquet staff follow Hotel Ella service standards, uniform standards, safety procedures, and event expectations.


* Support food service, beverage service, bussing, resetting, and guest interaction when needed.


* Oversee proper breakdown, cleanup, equipment return, linen handling, trash removal, and event space reset.


* Report any service issues, guest concerns, maintenance needs, staffing concerns, or event notes to management after the event.
